Ferrocarril de Sóller

Ferrocarril de Sóller
Ferrocarril de Sóller (Plaça d’Espanya 6, Sóller, Mallorca) — ever since 1912 the Sóller railway (known under the acronym “FS”) has been running a daily train service along the 27.3 km route between Palma de Mallorca and the northern Mallorcan town of Sóller, without interruption. From 1913 it has also run the tram service along the 4.9 km. from Sóller and the Port of Sóller. At the town of Palma, the FC station is located just off of Plaça d’ Espanya and is close to a park (located on top of the underground Metro station Estació Intermodal).
Tourists treat the “FS” service as a living piece of railway history, and a surprise to encounter on what’s supposed to be a “vacation island”. A one-way trip from Palma to Sóller (or vice versa) costs €12.50. Check its website for more details, including schedules: www.trendesoller.com
